Floor Manager | Guru of Customer Service

EMPLOYMENT TYPE: FULL-TIME

The Floor Manager will supervise and manage all aspects of the front-line operations of the facility and work closely with the General Manager, Operations Assistant, Head Route Setter and Program Coordinator. This position is full-time and includes evening and weekend hours. You would be managing the facility’s part-time and full-time staff. In collaboration with Aspire’s GM, your duties will include: hiring, scheduling, fiscal reporting, basic marketing; including use of Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. The Floor Manager is a guru and the first line backup on all customer service issues. You will be working closely with senior management as well as other support staff in the company. Managerial experience in the hospitality or fitness industries is a must, along with having a passion for climbing and athleticism. You must be proficient with computers, including spreadsheets and word processing. The Floor Manager performs schedules and oversees maintenance of the facility and the equipment to ensure the safety of the staff and customers.

 

SPECIFIC JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Responsible for communicating and upholding Aspire Climbing & Fitness standards

  • Lead by example: manage a safe, clean, friendly and well maintained facility.

  • Major emphasis is to support member retention by advocating for the best customer experiences and operations processes in the facility

  • Train the facility staff in the art of sales

  • Maintain inventory of all rental equipment and ensure it is in proper usable condition

  • Maintain a spreadsheet of the facility’s maintenance

  • Responsible for assisting and directing members / guests, monitoring incoming inquiries and ensuring proper check-in and safety procedures are followed

  • Work closely with program coordinators and head route setter to schedule staff

  • Manage Aspire’s Facebook, Twitter and blog accounts

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports for upper management

  • Other management duties as assigned

  • Experience using Rock Gym Pro software is preferred

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree / College Diploma preferred

  • Prior work in a customer service environment

  • Prior experience managing staff and scheduling

  • Knowledge of Word, Excel, Rock Gym Pro (preferred)

  • Professional appearance

  • Dependable, self-confident, able to work independently

  • Positive and upbeat

  • Flexible, eager to learn and willing to adapt to new responsibilities

  • Strong organizational skills, multi-tasking and time management abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Demonstrate initiative, able to identify and solve problems

  • Detail oriented

  • Rock climbing experience preferred

  • Belay experience preferred

WORK HOURS:

Full-Time

PAY LEVEL:

Salaried position. Remuneration will be based on qualifications and experience.​

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Staff must be able to perform manual labor, including working at height. Staff must be comfortable with lifting objects up to roughly 50 pounds. Vulnerable sector check required.
