The School of Hard Rock is more than just a climbing school. Aspire Climbing provides a safe, controlled environment to build confidence, promote self-esteem, and teach kids that conquering fear is a healthy part of growing up. Increased core strength and flexibility are natural results of the ever evolving puzzle of climbing. Kids learn to negotiate challenges using their own natural ability and new skills acquired through each class. We take learning beyond the classroom, into an exciting visceral experience, that builds confidence and self-awareness.
Quality over quantity
8 week focused weeks with flexible lesson planning so coaches can adapt to maximize climber development in each class.
All SOHR coaches undergo further training and workshops between each season to elevate their coaching skills, communication techniques, class management, and of course their own personal climbing skills to be mentors for SOHR climbers.
Small class ratios
Class sizes are limited to 8 climbers with 2 coaches. This provides more one-on-one development for each climber.
Longer breaks between seasons
This allows climbers to try other programs like the League of Ninjas or customized private sessions with our advanced coaches to add variety. Climbers can also enjoy the benefits of increased socializing with other climbers in their class and continue practicing outside class times.
No two seasons are alike. Each class is customized for the unique blend of climbers in each group.
Opportunity for early advancement for advanced climbers.
End of season progression trackers
Detailed summary of skills acquired, ways to continue improvement outside of classes and recommended next steps.

Nemos is our foundation program that introduces young explorers to the exciting world of climbing and ninja. Children will grow in confidence through ninja and climbing oriented games and lessons. Nemos will further their coordination, balance, and movement skills through activities that introduce body awareness, which will help build agility. This engaging program inspires independence and a desire to further develop strength and skill to climb higher and swing further. Children that have taken the class before will further develop their skills and hone their movement in preparation for Buffalos or League of NInjas 1.0.

The next step for climbers is our Rattlesnakes program. New climbers will be introduced to climbing fundamentals and will gain an improved body awareness with every climb. At this level we build further on our solid base of balance, stability, and climbing movement. Those that have taken the class before will progress to learning more advanced movements and skills. Climbers will learn when and how to apply all the knowledge they’ve gained, making climbing feel natural and problem solving intuitive. Through goal setting with coaches, climbers learn to focus and increase strength, which results in achieving both personal success as well as group success.

The Kelsos program teaches climbers about personal responsibility and safest practice to follow. Through the introduction of belaying, climbers become accountable for their peers and prepare to become independent of supervision at our facility. Every lesson builds character and provides Kelsos with new tools and tactics to advance their climbing, helping them gain confidence. They become further aware of their physical potential and develop the mental fortitude to persevere and dedicate themselves to their goals. This is an important preparatory level for climbers aspiring to be more.

The next steps...
Beyond the School of Hard Rock, children can earn their way to the advanced levels of our youth programs; the Vanguards, Elite and Team Aspire Climbing. Through specialized coaching and even smaller coaching ratios, we hone in on the finer points of skills development and introduce training to teach dedication and commitment to achieve personal and high-performance goals in climbing. These advanced levels are based on try-outs only. Ask our coaches if your child qualifies!
